Her haunting notes

-

IN a letter to those visiting St Paul’s at the time of her death, Lidia Dragescu wrote: ‘To those who saw me like this, I am sorry.

‘People should not see dead bodies when coming here. I’m sorry for showing you this ugly sight, please go and be happy about your lives.’

In the letter to her mother, she wrote: ‘Mum, I’m very sorry for upsetting you in this way.

‘It will naturally be upsetting but do not be sad for me I’m in a better place. I’m doing this for me. I’m doing this to escape. All of the past and the present is making my head heavy.

‘It will be difficult without me for a time but after things will be ok.

‘I told you how much I love you. I’m sorry, I care but I need to escape and I can’t wait to see what is on the other side.

‘I love you all, remain well and I will see you when you are old. Take care, thank you for everything.’
