Free childcare blip

MORE than 21,000 children eligible for 30 hours of free childcare have not yet got a nursery place half-way through the term, according to figures from the Department for Education. While 216,384 codes have been given to parents, just 195,345 have been validated. Experts say this is because many childcare providers have limited when free hours can be used.
