SHREWS ARE ALL SET FOR SAFE STANDING

LEAGUE ONE club Shrewsbury Town will have England’s first safestanding section in place early next year, after revealing yesterday that they have hit their £65,000 funding target to build it.

No other English all-seat stadium has been modified to include a standing area and fans who want similar sections in Premier League grounds believe this will demonstrate the conversion process is straightforward.

Shrewsbury decided that crowdfunding was needed to raise the money and there were contributions from almost 1,000 individuals and companies.
