How Maureen Lipman turned into Camilla’s celebrity stalker

THE DUCHESS of Cornwall has been very outgoing this week following a period of seclusion during the 20th anniversary of Diana’s death, but she was surprised to meet her match on Tuesday night.

‘This is my fourth engagement in two days, and the Duchess of Cornwall has been at all of them,’ actress Maureen Lipman told me at the Man Booker prize party in London. ‘I’ve talked more to her in the last two days than I’ve spoken to my partner [Guido Castro] in the past ten years.’

When Camilla, who was presenting the awards, clapped eyes on Lipman, she walked over with a smile and said: ‘We can’t go on meeting like this!

‘Will you just leave me alone? Are you my stalker?’
