LIKE Mr Thorpe of Leigh (Letters), I am fed up of constantly hearing about ‘God’s own country’. I also resent all the banging on about HS2 and the Northern Powerhouse.

We have one motorway to the South-West and one rail track that periodically falls into the sea.
