Dyche would cost Leicester £2.5m
LEICESTER CITY face paying significant compensation for Sean Dyche should the club appoint him as Craig Shakespeare’s successor, as he secretly signed an improved Burnley contract this year. Around £2.5million is required to prise Dyche from his deal at Turf Moor. Dyche was rewarded with better terms near the end of last season — and the club also protected itself with a higher buy-out clause. The move was kept quiet to avoid distractions at a crucial stage of the campaign. The last new deal Dyche made public was in February 2016. But Dyche, 46, who has guided Burnley to seventh this season, is interested in talks. As well as representing a step up in budget, the Leicester job makes geographical sense, as he divides his time between Lancashire and his home in Northampton. Leicester are yet to make any approaches but targets have been discussed. The club also admire Huddersfield’s David Wagner and Wales manager Chris Coleman has been linked, but Sam Allardyce has ruled himself out. Michael Appleton, made No 2 by Shakespeare, is in temporary charge and will pick the side to play Swansea on Saturday.
