Aguero record bid

SERGIO AGUERO is hoping for an opportunity to break Manchester City’s all-time goalscoring record at the Etihad tonight.

Pep Guardiola has hinted at wholesale changes for the Carabao Cup fourth-round tie against Wolves but said Aguero is likely to feature at some point. The Argentina star equalled Eric Brook’s record of 177 goals for the club when he scored from the spot against Burnley on Saturday.

Bernardo Silva will not face disciplinary action from the FA over allegations that he dived to win the penalty that Aguero converted. An independent panel could not reach the unanimous verdict required to impose a two-match ban.
