I AM surprised the burglary clear-up rate is as high as 10 per cent (Mail).

Friends were burgled, but they had security cameras and showed me footage of the burglars going up and down the stairs. One even turned and looked straight at the camera.

‘Did the police take any action?’ I asked. ‘Not that we heard of,’ replied my friends.
