McDonald’s boost

-

STRONG appetite for its home delivery service helped lift sales at McDonald’s.

The fast-food chain, which launched a delivery service through the UberEats app, said the scheme accounted for 10pc of sales across the 270 branches that had taken up the initiative – despite it only being launched in June. As a result McDonald’s said it plans to increase the delivery service quickly. Its click-and-collect app, which allows customers to order on their mobile and collect their food from the counter, was popular. It reported a 5.7pc rise in global sales for the three months to the end of September.
