A SECTION of Anne Frank’s diary will be read aloud before all Italian matches this week after recent episodes of antisemitism. The move comes after Lazio fans left stickers around the Stadio Olimpico depicting Anne — a German-born Jew killed in the Holocaust — wearing a Roma shirt after a match on Sunday. The readings will take place in the centre circle before all midweek Serie A, Serie B and Serie C matches, and before amateur and youth matches at the weekend. An image of Anne will be put on Lazio shirts for tonight’s game at Bologna. Lazio will organise an annual trip to Auschwitz concentration camp for 200 young Lazio fans to ‘educate them not to forget’.
