ENGLAND XI WITH THE WORLD AT THEIR FEET

- JAMES RESTALL AND BEN WINSTANLEY

CURTIS ANDERSON (Man City, goalkeeper)

Former Blackpool academy keeper was the hero in England’s 5-3 shootout victory over Japan in the last 16... saving one and scoring another himself!

STEVEN SESSEGNON (Fulham, right back)

Twin brother of Fulham left back Ryan, Steven made his first-team debut in the League Cup at Wycombe earlier this season. Was named best defender as Fulham won the Premier League’s Under 16 International Cup in 2015.

JOEL LATIBEAUDIERE (Man City, centre back)

England’s captain was named City’s academy player of the season last year and is tipped by some to become the next Vincent Kompany.

MARC GUEHI (Chelsea, centre back)

Born in Abidjan in the Ivory Coast but has represented England at three different age groups. He captained the side to the final at this year’s Euros.

JONATHAN PANZO (Chelsea, left back)

Had two reasons to celebrate yesterday. He reached the final... and it was his 17th birthday. To top it off, Rhian Brewster gave his team-mate his hat-trick match ball as a present.

GEORGE McEACHRAN (Chelsea, midfield)

Oxford-born McEachran is the younger brother of Brentford midfielder Josh, who won the Under 17 Euros in 2010.

TASHAN OAKLEY-BOOTHE (Tottenham, midfield)

Became the first player born in the 21st century to appear for Tottenham when he replaced Dele Alli in a League Cup tie against Barnsley at Wembley last month.

PHIL FODEN (Man City, right midfield)

The Stockport-born playmaker has been at City since he was eight. When he joined from local club Reddish Vulcans, they posted on their website: ‘Remember the name... balance and a left foot like you can’t believe.’

MORGAN GIBBS-WHITE (Wolves, attacking midfield)

Became the youngest player to appear for Wolves’ first-team since Robbie Keane when he made his debut in January this year aged 16.

CALLUM HUDSON-ODOI (Chelsea, left midfield)

Celebrated scoring in England’s 2-1 semi-final win over Turkey at the Euros earlier this year by sitting his GCSE biology exam at a school in Zagreb where the tournament was being held.

RHIAN BREWSTER (Liverpool, striker)

Now has 19 goals from 21 caps after scoring his fourth youth international hat-trick. An injury crisis at Anfield saw him make Jurgen Klopp’s bench against Crystal Palace in the Premier League last season but there was just one problem... he did not own a suit. Klopp revealed: ‘He told me, “I have a washbag but I don’t have a suit”. No problem!’
