What’s the real total?
OVER the next decade another 3.6million people – more than the entire population of Wales – will be crammed into these islands, with most of the increase due to migration.
And that’s just the official figure – believed by the respected MigrationWatch thinktank to be a considerable underestimate. The truth is that the Government doesn’t know the real level of migration into Britain – and doesn’t want to know.
Every day illegal migrants – not counted in the official projections – are coming in under the radar, with profound implications for schools, the NHS and social care.
Only this week, 26 alleged people-smugglers were arrested in coordinated raids and 15 Ethiopians and Eritreans found in the back of a lorry at a Kent service station.
Earlier this month, former head of immigration enforcement David Wood admitted there are already a million illegals living here – and there are no signs this human tide is abating.
Was there ever a more crucial time to take back control of our borders?
