Top of the crops... a pixie look for Emma and Cara

One is a veteran actress with a reputation for playing reticent or haughty women. The other is a supermodel with a wild- child reputation now making her way in Hollywood.

But emma Thompson and Cara Delevingne have shown they have at least one thing in common. Both sported new pixie-cut hairdos as they appeared on the sofa for The Graham norton Show.

earrings. Miss Delevingne, 25, who has written her first novel, looked striking in a black and red weaved top.

Miss Delevingne, who cut off her hair to play a cancer patient in a film, revealed that her hairstyle makes her look so young that one shop refused to sell her alcohol. And Oscar-winner Miss Thompson told how she refused to act her age – by going to see the Arctic Monkeys at the 2014 Reading Festival.

‘I was so crushed in and moved up and down by people I thought: “Oh, now is when I die – I always wondered when it would be, but I didn’t picture this”,’ she tells the show, on BBC1 tonight.
