O2 slams rivals over charges

-

THE boss of O2 has accused rivals of harming the mobile industry by charging customers for handsets they have paid for.

Mark Evans attacked EE, Vodafone and Three over the practice.

He was responding to research by Citizens Advice, which found millions of people were being stung by charges they need not pay.

It said some networks were failing to lower the bills of users after they finished repayments on handsets. O2 stopped this practice in 2013.

Evans said: ‘It has done reputational damage to the industry.

‘It’s an issue of trust and Vodafone, EE and Three should do something about it.’
