Canford on rise with kicking king Elwood

CANFORD are an emerging force in the SOCS Daily Mail Schools Trophy after reaching half-term with five wins out of five. In-form full-back James Elwood kicked all of the Dorset school’s points in a 15-12 win over Bryanston, following a 28-point haul in the 38-19 win against Blundell’s in the past fortnight. Canford, who have established links to the Bath academy, finished fifth last season and have gradually improved over the past three years coached by Peter Short, the ex-Leicester and Bath forward who is director of rugby, and ex-Samoa international Junior Paramore.
