RUTH issues a defiant message following her diagnosis. Ruth’s mother, Louise, died at 47, five weeks after being diagnosed with liver cancer. Ruth tells cancer she will win her battle. She says: ‘Oh hello, Cancer. I’ve often wondered if you’d try your luck with me and here you are, in the garish outfit and spikey shoes.’
