Cowell misses X Factor again after falling down stairs

SIMON Cowell was absent from the X Factor for a second time last night after falling down a flight of stairs at his home.

The music mogul was knocked unconscious on Friday morning as he went to the kitchen to get a cup of warm milk and had to be stretchered into an ambulance wearing a neck brace.

The X Factor judge was replaced on the panel by singer and Britain’s Got Talent judge Alesha Dixon.

Cowell, 8, had a series of scans including an MRI at Chelsea and Westminster NHS hospital before being sent home on Friday at around 3.20pm.

He is said to be ‘recovering well’ with his son Eric, three, and partner Lauren Silverman, who has returned home from New York to care for him.

He told a friend: ‘It was definitely very, very scary for me. I have to work out why my blood pressure was so low and sort it out. It’s been a real wake-up call for me.’ He is expected to attend the Pride of Britain awards tonight.
