I’m freezing my eggs at 38

-

TV SCIENTIST Dr Emily Grossman said she decided to freeze her eggs after seeing friends in their 40s struggle to conceive.

The 38-year-old, who has a double first from Cambridge and a PhD in cancer research, spent her 20s ‘having fun’ and pursuing an acting career.

Currently single, she hopes to delay motherhood with the freezing process, which will cost just under £10,000. ‘By the time I was in my late 20s, most of my friends were getting married,’ she said. ‘I thought, “I’ve got plenty of time”.’ At 30, she gave up drama, and is now an expert on Sky1’s science show Duck Quacks Don’t Echo.

She added: ‘I’ve seen how devastating it is for friends who meet the love of their life in their 40s, then struggle to start a family. I don’t want to be in that position.’
