Ewan’s wife ‘ had his co-star lover round for a family dinner before affair was exposed’
EWAN McGregor’s wife is said to be furious at his affair with a younger actress – having invited her round for a family dinner.
The actor and wife Eve Mavrakis, 51, welcomed Mary Elizabeth Winstead, 32, to their LA home last December, not knowing his Fargo co-star had had a ‘teenage crush’ on him.
They were reportedly joined by the McGregors’ four children, Clara, 21, Jamyan, 16, Esther Rose, 15, and Anouk, six. A source close to the family said: ‘Mary went to the house once and met Eve and the kids over dinner. It was very cordial and it seemed logical she should get to know Ewan and the family.
‘Eve is doing her best to handle it with dignity. But what makes it worse is she has been told Mary Elizabeth had a teenage crush on Ewan. I’m sure a lot of people did but they didn’t go and have an affair with him.’ Miss Winstead and McGregor, 46, were cast as lovers in the third series of the American TV drama.
The McGregors split in May after 22 years together. Pictures of him kissing Miss Winstead appeared last week and she has since been spotted leaving the actor’s £6million home in North London.
His wife has stayed in America with their children.
