Knight poorly Python Jones before it’s too late, says pal

-

HIGH- handed comedian John Cleese turned his nose up at a peerage, but it’s fellow Monty Python star Terry Jones who really deserves a gong, says so- called ‘ seventh Python’ Carol Cleveland.

Cleveland, 75, appeared in 35 of the 45 episodes of the classic TV series and in all five of their films.

She reunited with the Pythons for their comeback at the 02 Arena in 2014, a year before Jones was diagnosed with primary progressive apha- sia, a form of dementia. Anglo-American Cleveland, known to the team as Carol Cleavage, reckons Jones should be made Sir Terry ASAP.

‘If any of the Python team should be knighted, I think it should be Terry. Absolutely. It’s only so long before he goes a bit gaga,’ she says.

‘The particular form of dementia that he’s got apparently means that eventually he won’t be able to speak or understand language at all. You might call that a living death.’
