COLOGNE have been fined £53,000 and ordered to pay Arsenal for the damage their fans caused during their delayed Europa League match at the Emirates. UEFA acted after crowd trouble overshadowed Arsenal’s 3-1 win. Thousands of ticketless Cologne supporters made the journey, causing kick-off to be delayed by an hour. Five arrests were made and UEFA charged Cologne over crowd disturbances, setting off fireworks and acts of damage.
BURY have sacked Lee Clark as manager after just eight months. Saturday’s 1-0 defeat by Doncaster was Bury’s fourth in a row, leaving them second bottom of League One. Their assistant manager Alan Thompson has left the club, too.
