ROSS KEMP BEHIND BARS: INSIDE BARLINNIE, 9PM, ITV

AFTER making his name as an actor playing hardmen, Ross Kemp has gone on to a new role as a Bafta-winning investigative journalist, presenting critically acclaimed documentaries on Sky. Now, he’s bringing that side of himself to terrestrial TV, starting with this hard-hitting documentary in which he goes behind bars at Glasgow’s notoriously grim HMP Barlinnie to investigate prison life. Kemp (pictured) talks to some of the 1,000 and more inmates and hardpressed staff at the 135-yearold prison to find out why the system seems to be at breaking point. The result is bleak, but compelling.
