Equity anxiety
I AGREE with reader Marion Hackney’s warning about researching equity release plans very carefully (Letters).
My parents, now in their 90s, took out an equity release plan on their home for £40,000 in 1988 with a financial institution that has subsequently been taken over twice. Their debt is now £98,000, which has left them anxious and stressed at what should be a peaceful time of life.
Name supplied, Brighton.
