Allardyce in talks over Everton job
EVERTON have held preliminary discussions with Sam Allardyce’s advisers as Farhad Moshiri searches for the club’s next manager.
Sportsmail understands Moshiri, Everton’s major shareholder, talked to representatives of Allardyce, who on Monday said he would consider the opportunity of ‘putting them back together’. Burnley’s Sean Dyche and Watford’s Marco Silva are also candidates. Allardyce is available now and could work on a contract until the end of the season. David Unsworth, in temporary charge since Ronald Koeman was sacked on October 23, wants the job but knows he must win games, starting tonight in the Europa League in Lyon. ‘I know that in the end you will be judged on performances,’ he said. Wayne Rooney, Phil Jagielka and Leighton Baines did not travel.
