Tackle toxic air

-

AS A retired doctor, I know only too well the cost to human health of our dirty air ( Mail). Tackling climate change is a smart way to snuff out air pollution, save lives and address a growing public health emergency.

This means embracing a raft of measures such as renewable energy, which is better for our health as well as the planet and household energy bills. This is not about a fashionable consensus, but pure common sense. The way to address climate change is much more than switching from diesel to petrol cars.

Let’s stop looking to the past and consider the untapped opportunities passing us by, which are good for the health of Britain, the NHS budget and the planet. Dr ROBIN STOTT,

London.
