SHARES in miner Centamin fell after it warned of increased production costs.

The firm reported record gold production of 156,533oz for its third quarter – a 26pc increase on the second quarter and 5pc higher than the same period last year, but faced higher rates and higher chemical compound usage. Centamin has soared recently after the discovery of higher grade ore in its mine in Egypt, and kept its full-year guidance at 540,000oz. Shares fell 3.9pc, or 5.6p, to 137.3p.
