JOSE: MY PLAYERS DON’T GET CREDIT THEY DESERVE
JOSE MOURINHO has hit back at Manchester United’s critics. Mourinho, who is attending a tax fraud case brought against him in Madrid this morning before Sunday’s Premier League game at Chelsea, believes United are victims of double standards. Having watched Tottenham’s 3-1 win over Real Madrid following their defeat at Old Trafford, Mourinho said: ‘Similar performances for some clubs are magic, are examples of brilliant tactics and amazing attitude by the players. With other teams the same kind of performance becomes conservative, negative,’ he said. ‘Tottenham beat Liverpool 4-1, Tottenham beat Real Madrid 3-1, Tottenham didn’t score against Manchester United so at least a little bit of credit my players deserve.’ Mourinho also suggested returning to his former club will become irrelevant. ‘In four or five years probably no one will remember I was Chelsea manager and it will become normal,’ he said.
