A message of compassion
HOW disappointing that Radio 4’s Today programme team think Thought For The Day is irrelevant and ‘deeply, deeply boring’.
I remember when, two decades ago, a bishop spoke tenderly about bereavement and how it tested our faith.
It was soon after my brother Michael had died aged just 41 of cancer, and I found great comfort not only in the bishop’s message but in the correspondence I had with him afterwards. Neither ‘boring’ nor ‘irrelevant’.
