Chances are they may be thinking what might happen if all the other racers got to drive the best car. Or maybe wondering where a lad born in Stevenage but living in Monaco actually pays his taxes. Much more likely is that, given the stupefying monotony of his chosen profession, they, like most of us, are just not watching at all.
