SPECIAL K SUCH A STAR ON SKY

- By JAMIE REDKNAPP

WHAT struck me most about my time in the Match Zone with Kevin De Bruyne was his unselfish attitude to football. He is more interested in making goals for the team than scoring them himself. De Bruyne is a lovely guy. He is intelligent, articulate and very thoughtful about his football. He is eager to share the ball and we could show how he is prepared to take risks in the final third to create chances for this free-scoring Manchester City side. In the Match Zone, Sky Sports can provide real in-depth analysis into a player’s goals, movement and skills. The touch screen means they can get involved in the analysis and for this interview, De Bruyne was able to demonstrate how his position has evolved over his three seasons at the Etihad. We can take the studio into stadiums and training grounds around the country and I have now interviewed both De Bruyne and Christian Eriksen in the Match Zone. By doing these interviews, we hope youngsters can get great insight into how these players get to the top of their game. If I were playing now, I would want to appear in our Match Zone to showcase my talents.
