Sugar and Bannatyne in selfie war of insults
THE Pride of Britain Awards are a chance to celebrate the remarkable achievements of ordinary people, but bad-tempered tycoons Alan Sugar and Duncan Bannatyne used the event to trade insults.
Former Dragons’ Den star Bannatyne, 68, accused Lord Sugar, 70, of turning away guests wanting photographs.
‘He refused selfies with award winners,’ the Scots health club chain founder claimed on Twitter. ‘I told him that wasn’t right.’
The Apprentice star Sugar (above) snapped: ‘I may have refused a selfie, as I was interrupted rudely while engaged talking to the honoured guest [Prince William]. You publicity seeking tw**.’
Sugar added: ‘As a Z-list celebrity, you would’ve only been asked for one selfie. I did 200; had to turn few away as speaking to Prince William. Shut your mouth. Dye your hair and get some more Botox.’
Referring to Bannatyne’s new wife, Nigora Whitehorn, 37 ( right), Sugar added: ‘ Sorry I turned your girlfriend down for a selfie. Didn’t want to make you jealous.’
Can’t someone tell them both: ‘You’re fired!’
