‘THERE is a crack in everything. That’s how the light gets in.’ The words of Leonard Cohen’s song Anthem, like so many Cohen lyrics, slip easily into the ear, then stay for ever in your mind. Jeremy Paxman, who used a Leonard Cohen track as an intro piece for his Edinburgh Festival oneman show, is a keen fan of

the music and poetry of the late Canadian singer. On HOW THE LIGHT GETS IN (RADIO 2, 10PM), Jeremy talks to other fans, including Judy Collins, Suzanne Vega and Arthur Smith, about the genius of Leonard Cohen.

A YOUNG writer gets a call from notorious con man Ziggy Heidl. Heidl is due to stand trial, and could be banged up for life, but before that happens, he wants a ghostwriter for his memoirs. Every weeknight over the next two weeks, Luke Mullins reads this dark yet funny Australian crime drama FIRST PERSON (RADIO 4, 10.45PM).
