Kiss me Kate! Winslet’s smacker for West Wing star

ACCEPTANCE speeches often involve tears, controversial comments and confessions.

But Kate Winslet took hers to another level when she locked lips with American actress Allison Janney on Sunday.

The 42-year-old Oscar winner picked up the Hollywood Actress award for her role in Woody Allen’s Wonder Wheel at the Hollywood Film Awards. Referring to West Wing star Miss Janney, 57, Miss Winslet said: ‘Allison Janney is in this room, I know I don’t really know you, but I just want to be you, I do. Or just stroke you or something ... I mean, we could always kiss, maybe?’ Miss Janney, who was in the audi- ence, ran to the stage as a delighted Miss Winslet said: ‘Oh, it’s going to happen.’

The two stars kissed on the lips and shared a hug. ‘Thank you very much,’ Miss Winslet said. ‘Now I’m a little bit breathless.’ Miss Janney also won the Hollywood supporting actress award for her role in I, Tonya at the event, hosted by James Corden in Los Angeles.
