thinks she has unearthed a royal scandal: Queen Victoria and Prince Albert may have had pre-marital sex.

Speaking at the DVD launch of the second series of her ITV drama Victoria, she points out the small gap between the royal wedding on February 10, 1840, and the birth of their first child on November 21. ‘[Victoria] does have the first baby almost suspiciously [early] . . .’ says Goodwin. ‘I wonder whether they might have had pre-marital sex.’
