Tell litter louts to clean up their mess
AS SOMEONE who goes out in the street every day to pick up litter, I support the readers who are brave enough to hand back rubbish to litter louts (Letters). I have often said: ‘You appear to have dropped something,’ but without exception, people deny it’s theirs. I persist and reply: ‘Never mind, you won’t mind picking it up, will you.’ It’s not just children and teenagers dropping litter on the street, buses and trains. What disappoints me more are the adults who litter during the day, when alcohol is not necessarily a contributing factor.
