Shame on you, Spacey

Mother weeps as she accuses the House Of Cards star, 58, of sexually assaulting her 18-year-old son in a bar

THE mother of one of Kevin Spacey’s alleged victims wept yesterday as she claimed the film and TV star sexually assaulted her teenage son last summer.

US broadcaster Heather Unruh – whose tweet accusing Spacey of assaulting a loved- one last month led to a wave of sexual claims against him – told the House Of Cards star: ‘Shame on you for what you did to my son.’

The TV reporter told a Press conference her son was 18 and not legally able to drink – although he told the actor he was older – when they met in a bar in Nantucket, Massachusetts, in July last year.

She added: ‘The victim, my son, was a star-struck, straight, young man who had no idea that the famous actor was an alleged sexual predator or that he was about to become his next victim.

‘There was no consent. Kevin Spacey bought him drink after drink and when my son was drunk Spacey made his move and sexually assaulted him. And I want to make it clear, this was a criminal act.’

She said Spacey, 58, suddenly stuck his hand into her son’s underwear and grabbed his genitals. ‘My son panicked. He froze,’ she added.

Spacey invited him to a party. But a woman who noticed the teenager’s distress persuaded him to flee when Spacey went to the lavatory.

Miss Unruh said her son ‘ran as fast as he could all the way to his grandmother’s house where, upset and afraid, he woke his sister and the two of them called me in the middle of the night’. She said she joined them the next day.

Her son didn’t go to police at the time out of fear of accusing such a global celebrity, Miss Unruh said.

‘Nothing could’ve prepared my son for how that sexual assault Allegations: Kevin Spacey would make him feel as a man,’ she said in tears. ‘It harmed him and it cannot be undone.’

Her son – whom she didn’t name – went to police after the Harvey Weinstein scandal erupted.

Spacey is seeking unspecified treatment after more than a dozen men accused him of sexual harassment, molestation or attempted rape. They were led by actor Anthony Rapp who said he was just 14 when Spacey made sexual advances.

Miss Unruh was the first to turn the spotlight on Spacey, honoured in the UK with a knighthood and CBE, with a tweet on October 13 in which she said the Harvey Weinstein scandal had ‘emboldened’ her. ‘I was a Kevin Spacey fan until he assaulted a loved- one. Time the dominoes fell,’ she said.

Spacey, who also faces a sex assault investigation in Britain, has yet to respond to her accusations.

Another woman has accused millionaire magician David Blaine of sexual assault after a British model said he raped her in London.

The unnamed US journalist told Scotland Yard that Blaine exposed himself to her in New York in 1998 and asked her to perform a sex act.

Blaine has denied the allegations.
