BBC presenter Adrian Chiles reveals £5.5million fortune
IT’S almost three years since ITV abruptly severed its ties with one-time golden boy presenter Adrian Chiles.
But despite the axing, Chiles has not struggled to maintain his massive wealth. New figures show he is worth more than £5.5 million, with £1.6 million in the bank plus investments of more than £1.4 million.
Chiles ‘advanced’ himself nearly £280,000 in a loan and paid himself £91,500 in dividends in the 12 months to the end of January this year.
His company, Basic Broadcasting Limited, is doing so well it had a corporation tax bill of £152,675 — more than double its bill last year.
Chiles appeared in the BBC’s list of highly paid presenters earlier this year, revealing he was paid up to £200,000. He has a regular morning BBC slot presenting 5 Live Daily, but also makes one-off documentaries such as My Mediterranean.
At ITV he was picking up a reported salary of £1.5 million a year presenting Champions League Football, a panel show and the channel’s breakfast TV show Daybreak.
