IN HIS new autobiogra­phy, Gordon Brown says Britain was misled by the U.S. that Saddam Hussein possessed weapons of mass destructio­n.

Many people were not fooled by

these claims, including those who took part in the mass demonstrat­ions in London.

Mr Brown should have given greater credence to the late David Kelly. The fact that Saddam did not have WMDs encouraged the U.S. and UK to invade without the risk of those weapons being used.

Far from making the world a safer place, it has become more dangerous by encouragin­g North Korea to develop nuclear weapons. If it didn’t have them, the U. S. may already have invaded. R. JACKSON, Yeovil, Somerset.
