FAMOUS FOR? The Butterfly Stool, made of plywood and reminiscen­t of butterflie­s’ wings. In 1952, he founded the Yanagi Industrial Design Institute in Japan, designing furniture, lighting, cutlery, children’s toys, bicycles, motorcycle­s and even a metro station.
