Colder than Iceland! The freeze is set to reach -8C
IF you don’t fancy freezing temperatures this weekend, you might want to fly to balmy Iceland – where the capital Reykjavik isn’t expected to drop below -4C.
Parts of Britain, on the other hand, could plummet to an astonishing -8C. Snow showers are forecast today and tomorrow across Snowdonia and the Scottish hills.
Tomorrow night could be the coldest so far where the -8C (18F) mark will be hit in parts of Scotland. Until now, the coldest temperature this autumn was - 6C ( 21F) at Braemar, Aberdeenshire.
For most of England, there will be a North-South divide as the Arctic weather pattern starts to bite. Southerners will have a milder day with some rain, while the North will feel the side-effects of the Arctic blast, with temperatures struggling to rise above 2C (36F).
Tomorrow will be the coldest day of the weekend, with a low of 3C (37F) in the South and 0C in the North. Met office forecaster Emma Sharples said: ‘We have had some chilly weather over the last couple of weekends but this weekend will see two nights of sustained cold.’
