Firm’s £30k of Adele tickets

-

ONE of the world’s biggest touts used an offshore firm in the Isle of Man to bank profits from resales of hundreds of tickets to Adele and Ed Sheeran concerts, the Paradise Papers have revealed.

Canadian Julien Lavallee, 30, set up the firm I Want Ticket Inc to avoid paying UK tax on ticket sales worth hundreds of thousands of pounds.

The files show he snapped up tickets worth more than £30,000 for Adele’s UK shows within minutes of them going on sale in December 2015, the Guardian reported. He resold tickets through websites including StubHub.

It is thought Mr Lavallee used software to be able to buy tickets in bulk – which he denies. His main firm Ticketaria recorded a £4.7million turnover in 2014.

Investing offshore is legal and Mr Lavallee’s lawyer said Ticketaria had always acted within the law.
