Now that’s scary ...a f lying T-Rex!
SEEING this hulking silhouette in the distance might leave you thinking you had stepped into a real- life Jurassic Park.
But while this imposing figure bears a scary resemblance to the T-Rex, it is actually formed by thousands of star- lings flying in formation. Birdwatchers captured the spectacle on camera as the birds flew above the Martin Mere nature reserve in Lancashire.
Scientists believe starlings gather together to protect each other from the claws of predators. The display, called a murmuration, is a speciality of the starling and is more prevalent as winter nears and the days become shorter.
The RSPB said such displays can involve more than 100,000 birds.
