Jacklin Junior is on his way

TONY JACKLIN’S son Sean has taken a big stride towards following in his famous father’s footsteps by playing in his first US PGA Tour event this week. The 25-year-old, who is the world No 1,666, was a qualifier for the OHL Classic at Mayakoba in Mexico. Jacklin Jnr, born in Biggar, Scotland but raised in Florida, is named after Sean Connery and hopes

one day to play for Europe in the Ryder Cup — the event which played such a major part in his father’s career. Sean played the opening round in par 71 but slipped back with a second-round 74 to end the day three over par.
