... as customers fume at new £3.99 delivery fee

-

A ‘SNEAKY’ fee has been introduced by Amazon for its same-day delivery service, angering customers.

Shoppers must now pay £3.99 on orders under £40.

Amazon customers can pay an annual £79 fee for its Prime service. Before, subscribers spending a minimum of £20 enjoyed free same-day delivery within a two-hour slot. But now any order below £40 comes with the £3.99 fee.

In a backlash on Twitter, one shopper called it a ‘robbery’ while another wrote: ‘Adding a £3.99 charge without notice is very sneaky.’

Amazon did not respond to most of Twitter complaints, but provided a link to its help pages online.
