Sangster’s race to the altar

-

WITH the confetti barely settled after the Ibiza nuptials of racing magnate Robert Sangster’s son Max, another family wedding beckons.

Max’s brother, bloodstock agent-racing manager Sam, 30, has proposed to his girlfriend jewellery designer Madeleine Crewe-Read, 29, in Barbados (pictured).

‘It’s just wonderful,’ Madeleine’s mother, Belinda Scott, tells me. ‘He’s adorable.’ Sam is the son of glamorous blonde socialite Susan Sangster, who was unkindly labelled a ‘career divorcee’ after amassing a fortune through her four marriages. Madeleine is the niece of art expert David Crewe-Read, who has advised Andrew Lloyd Webber on his painting purchases. Sam’s father was just as interested in two-legged fillies. He was married three times, sired five sons and one daughter and had a very public fling with Jerry Hall while she was married to Mick Jagger. Of her ‘ revenge affair’ Jerry declared: ‘Robert can buy him out ten times over.’
