heard plenty of good gospel music when she was growing up begins a threepart series that will tell the story of gospel music from the Fifties to the present day. For LAURA MVULA — GOD MADE ME FUNKY (RADIO 2, 10PM) she will play some of her favourite gospel tracks, and feature music from Aretha Franklin, James Brown and Ray Charles.

MARTIN SIMPSON is on JOOLS HOLLAND (RADIO 2, 11PM) tonight. Martin, who spent 15 years in America, and whose hits include Love Never Dies, joins Jools and the band for a Bob Dylan classic.
