MARLER BACK IN THE FOLD

- CHRIS FOY

JOE MARLER was recalled last night after serving his ban for foul play, as England prepare for the Test against Australia on Saturday. The Harlequins prop was banned for three weeks for striking Wasps lock Will Rowlands with his arm. His ban originally ran until November 19, but was shortened on appeal. Marler will train with the squad ahead of the fixture against the Wallabies, but he remains a long-shot for selection, with Mako Vunipola and Ellis Genge set to fill the loosehead berths in the starting XV and on the bench. Quins’ rookie playmaker Marcus Smith has also been included, while centre Ben Te’o has been brought back into the fold as he continues his recovery from an ankle injury.
