Plymouth man up

- SIMON PARKER

REMI MATTHEWS believes Plymouth’s latest win has shown they are not a one-man team. Saturday’s victory at Valley Parade lifted Argyle off the bottom of League One. They also achieved it without talisman Graham Carey, named the division’s player of the month for October, who was suspended. ‘It just proves if one man is down we all dig in and work together,’ said on-loan goalkeeper Matthews. ‘We defended unbelievably and you could see the team spirit.’ Matthews played his part with a penalty save to deny Tony McMahon. Bradford also hit the bar twice as Plymouth lived a charmed life to protect their lead from a Jake Jervis goal.
