Countdown Rachel shows her true colours

- By Ross Parker

SHE is the genius who makes maths look easy on Countdown.

But last night Rachel Riley turned into a Red Devil when she appeared at a charity dinner in the colours of her favourite football team.

The 31-year-old wore a floor-length crimson gown with a thigh-high split at the Unicef Gala Dinner at Manchester United ground Old Trafford. She was joined at the event by manager Jose Mourinho and the first team squad. The dinner was held to raise funds for Unicef and to celebrate the 18-year partnership between the organisation and the club.

Miss Riley wowed on the red carpet in the custom- made dress by designer Cherry Williams. The dressmaker, who has worked on films such as The Other Boleyn Girl and Pirates of the Caribbean, charges at least £2,500 for bespoke designs.

The presenter paired the gown with ruby heels by Manolo Blahnik, an embellished clutch bag and a diamond necklace.

Miss Riley is a well-known supporter of Manchester United, and previously co- presented Friday Night Football on Sky Sports. She left the post earlier this year following a raft of online abuse.
