DAVID TWOHY’S follow-up to Pitch Black

has Vin Diesel reprising his role as the reformed convict, but otherwise bears little relation to that simple slasher. It’s a sci-fi thriller with Lord Of The Rings ambitions, but scant plot, confused action and a bizarre appearance by the venerable Judi Dench.
